Nitro Nitro! is the fourth album from the trio Third, and an absolute first because all the songs are this time of their own hands. Put it on, listen and do not hesitate to occasionally yell “Nitro Nitro!”.
Trio C tot de derde (Trio Third)
The Dutch music group Trio C tot de derde consists of the three musicians Carel den Hertog (violin), Coos Lettink (accordeon) and Caspar Terra (clarinet). The music they play is inspired by klezmer, music from the Balkans and gypsy-music. They create their own unique sound, performing traditional melodies in a particular and often unexpected way. Since they enjoy improvisation so much, no musical piece ever sounds twice the same. While improvising, the members of Trio C tot de derde are playfully challenging each other to virtuosity and lyrical sounds. The music they play expresses euphoric happiness, as well as intense sadness, which means music for dancing, but also for dreaming. They perform everywhere; birthday parties, weddings, commemoration-meetings, funerals, theatres, churches, festivals, in smoky pubs and on street-corners all over the world.

Hi-Fi News and Record Review
This album is an absolute riot and all delivered in sparkling sound quality. The fourth album by Trio C tot de Derde (The Third) is an infectious mix of Klezmer, Gypsy and Balkan folk music, played by the three members of the Dutch ensemble with real panache and enjoyment. Netherlands-based, the trio improvises, explores and just goes for it.
Violinist Carel den Hertog, accordionist Coos Lettink and clarinetist Caspar Terra have that wonderful combination of intuition, trust and an easy-going fluidity that only comes from a lengthy collaboration. Recorded in a resonant church acoustic, this isn’t all music to get you up on your feet. The trio is just as impressive with the yearning and wistful as it is with the stomping stuff. This is an exuberant, attention-grabbing set, beautifully rendered in DSD sound. Sound quality: 85%
