Le Coucou: Juan Cossío plays Michael Henkel (World Premiere Recording)

Flute player Juan Cossío and guitarist Agustin Maruri follow their earlier release Juan Cossio Plays Kummer with a new album Le Coucou, Juan Cossío plays Michael Henkel. This album is available exclusively in Stereo DSD 512, DSD 256, DSD 128, DSD 64 and DXD at NativeDSD. It is not available on SACD.

Agustin Maruri tells us “Nowadays in an over saturated music recordings market it is really difficult to find interesting World Premiers. At HR Recordings, we always try to present new music or rediscovered composers that are worth listening to. Having the opportunity to work with such a player as Juan Cossío (flute) is even more exciting when we are able to put together young brilliant performers and composers who receive their first world recording.

This was the case with the German composer Gaspard Kummer from whom we presented the first world recording of his complete pieces for flute and guitar. Now, another German composer gets to see the light again for his original compositions for flute and guitar, this is Johann Michael Henkel.
