The Yuko Mahuchi Trio features three fine Jazz artists – Yuko Mabuchi, Del Atkins and Bobby Breton.
Pianist Yuko Mabuchi moved to the United States from her native Japan only recently. When she plays American Jazz, she speaks the language perfectly. Listeners love Yuko’s sense of rhythm and melody, and her improvising feels like she was born in Detroit or New York City. Her technique reminds listeners of some of Yuko’s music idols like Oscar Peterson, Herbie Hancock and Monty Alexander.
Bassist Del Atkins has deep roots in Jazz and R&B. Del performs with Yuko Mabuchi Trio among other ensembles, including performances with Patti Labelle, Hank Crawford, Les McCann and Lou Rawls.
Del attended Locke High School and took healthy advantage of the rich music programs available at the time, including studies in harmony, arranging and jazz concert performance. This began his musical journey. His foundation became stronger under the guidance of Reggie Andrews, Don Harris and Frank Harris. Del attended Los Angeles Community College and collaborated with upcoming artists like Gerald Albright and ultimately began performing with Latin artist Willie Bobo at the Playboy Jazz Music Festival.
Del has also placed a number of his compositions in commercials and television shows. Del performs regularly with the Yuko Mabuchi Trio.
Drummer Bobby Breton comes from Pasadena, CA and performs regularly with the Yuko Mabuchi Trio and other ensembles. For 25 years Bobby has toured internationally and has placed music in film, television, and video games.
He has written and produced over 350 compositions ranging from Avant Garde, Jazz, Post-Punk, Cinematic, Ambient Groove, Alternative Rock, and Classic Contemporary genres. Bobby currently teaches Music Production at Los Angeles College of music and works as an independent consultant. Bobby also hosts workshops for music ensembles.
In addition to his skills as a drummer, Bobby also plays guitar, keyboards, and he sings as well. Bobby has been licensing music since 1999 and continues to do so independently.
