West Side Story Suite is a new, specially priced Stereo DSD EP from Pentatone features Leonard Bernstein’s music for Stephen Sondheim’s Broadway musical and film West Side Story. The music is among the most colorful and significant pieces of the twentieth century, blending together classical, jazzy and Latin inspirations. Houston Symphony and Andrés Orozco-Estrada present the West Side Story Suite, a string of highlights, containing energetic movements such as Mambo and Rumble, while closing with Maria and Tony’s romantic love music.
The music is taken from the Houston Symphony Orchestra’s earlier album Music of the Americas which is available in Stereo and 5 Channel Surround Sound DSD. Fans of the Houston Symphony Orchestra may want to take a look and listen at that earlier NativeDSD release as well.
